As part of your 3CX system, you can sign into your extension through various methods. These include:
- Running the web client within a Google Chrome tab.
- Using the 3CX web app (PWA)
- The 3CX Desktop App
- Mobile App
This article is specific to the PWA app and the web client. These methods require you to grant permissions to use effectively. The two main permissions are the microphone and notifications. Notifications are used to notify you of incoming calls or messages and the microphone allows you to communicate during your calls. The camera is also a permission 3CX can request, this is used for web meetings hosted through 3CX.
Checking Permissions
To check the set permissions, navigate to your web browser's site settings. There you can add or remove settings as needed.
- Click on the site information button next to your 3CX domain name and then click on Site Settings.
- In this menu, locate the required permissions (Microphone and Notifications) and set these to Allow. If you'd like to change additional permissions you can, however, these are the main settings you'll need for effective communication through the 3CX App.
- After allowing these settings, refresh your 3CX tab or close and reopen the PWA app and you should now be listed as available with the added ability to make and receive calls.
Please Note: You do not need to set these permissions if you are using the 3CX Desktop App. The mobile apps ask for their permissions as you configure them for the first time.
