Due to legal reasons, Yamo is not able to allow number spoofing. Due to this, we can only allow numbers that have been purchased and are legally able to use as an outbound Caller ID.
What is Number Spoofing?
Number Spoofing is the practice of causing the receiving telephone to indicate that the origination of the call is from somewhere other than the original location.
An example of this would be that the Caller ID on the receiving phone would display a different number than the originating phone number, this could display as a different number in the same area code, or a completely different area code altogether depending on the situation.
When is this possible?
If we are porting in a number from another carrier that you already own to our network, at the point of acceptance, we are able to add these numbers to your caller ID if required. An example of this would be if you owned 0298765432 and would like this ported from your current carrier to our network, we would note the details of the account and pass this along to our carrier who will then request a port from the current carrier. Once the current carrier communicates the acceptance of the port we can, at your request, use this number for an extension or multiple extensions.
