There are a number of reasons that a public IP address may be requested, some of the common ones include; whitelisting this address against the phone system, removing a ban that has been applied or updating firewall rules to allow connections to that location. There are two easy ways to find an IP address which we have listed below.
Through IP Info
This first method relies on a website called ipinfo.io. This website provides helpful information on your connection such as your ISP, hostname and the public IP address which is what we would be after from this website. This is displayed on the top of the webpage.
The IP address will be listed below the "My IP Address" heading, this has been removed in the screenshot.
The second method to obtain an IP address is through the google search engine, through this you can search "What is my IP address" and the response will list your public IP address as shown below.
