Updating your Music on hold

Through the management console, you are able to access the global music on hold settings. This is a universal music on hold which will apply to all inbound routes. To update this you will need to ensure you have the correct settings on your extension. If you are unsure, please reach out to our support team here.

Requirements for music

The requirements for audio files are WAV (PCM, 8 kHz, 16 bit, Mono, with a max file size of 100MB) this is the analogue audio format and to eliminate issues with analogue lines this is why the requirement is set.

Updating the Music on Hold

Once you have logged into the management console (an example link to the console is https://yourcompanyname.3cx.com.au:5001/) click on settings. Once you have clicked on that, you should have a music on hold option, please click into this as well. From here you can then select upload to upload your file to the 3CX system or select it through a drop down. Once completed please click on "ok" to save.
