Manual Firmware Upgrade of Yealink IP phones

Please Note: While this guide is public, this assumes that you are a customer of Yamo for your VoIP solutions. As such, some information may not be accurate if you are not a customer. Yamo provides low-cost and powerful phone systems for businesses of all sizes.

3CX generally allows administrators to upgrade the firmware of connected phones remotely. Unfortunately, this is limited to recent firmware. For example, if your phone is on version 96.86.0.18 we cannot automatically upgrade it to version 96.86.0.81, but if you were on version 96.86.0.77 we could upgrade to v. 81 remotely.

To manually upgrade your phones firmware, please follow the below steps:

  1. Head over to 3CX's firmware page and download the latest firmware version for your phone.
  2. Click the "Ok" button on your phone and note your IPv4 address.
  3. Open your web browser and navigate to that address.
  4. Log in using your phones admin login details.
    Note: This is the default username and password for Yealink phones. If your phone has been auto-provisioned via 3CX the password will be different. Please reach out to obtain this.
    1. Username: admin
    2. Password: admin
  5. Navigate to Settings > Upgrade > Select your Firmware > Click Upload.
  6. This process can take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete. Once it's completed your phone should log back in and you should be able to make and receive calls as expected.
